Background Information

ChargeHub is a network-independent EV charging application, in which users are able to navigate to stations, pay for and activate charging sessions for their electric vehicles. In this project I will detail how we at ChargeHub learn, build, and measure continuously to deliver an effective end experience for our users.

The Problem

Users in the app are having a hard time identifying which stations in the ChargeHub app they are able to activate using the application.

The Process

After identifying that we have a problem, we at ChargeHub focus on learning as much about the problem as we can. Generating some understanding of our audience and how the current configuration of our assets is causing an issue for them.

Process in Practice

Personas

We have established user profiles from years of research and industry standards in the EV space.

Prototyping & Testing

In order to test using Userbrain, we (at the time) needed a functionally comparable prototype to identify where in the current user flow users were having difficulties

The Outcome

The agreed upon solution was to introduce a nugget of additional information in the mini details card, allowing users to confirm through text what it is they were looking for. By introducing this blurb, detailing whether or not a station can be activated using the ChargeHub app, we were able to reduce customer service communications expressing confusion around this topic, eradicating it almost entirely.
